Group 8 Brigades Lower Hunter Zone, NSW Rural Fire Service: Hotspots Fire Project
The Wollombi Community Firewise Program was developed in response to community feedback and has evolved into the delivery of an integrated program of community engagement initiatives including safety forums and presentations, property inspections, bushfire survival planning workshops, pile burn workshops and firewise cafe.

Wyong Shire Council
This program is a jointly funded project undertaken by the Wyong Shire Council. The focus of the project was significantly improve Council's understanding of bush fire risk on Council-managed land, communicate risk to the community and develop effective strategies and works programs.

Clarence Nambucca Region, NSW State Emergency Service: Coffs Harbour Migrant and Refugee Forum
The aim of the forum was to demystify the roles of the different uniformed services within Australia and humanise the workforce in order to reduce fears and foster relationships. The forum was delivered in partnership with Coffs Coast Community College with a total of 90 participants and 30 support staff attending.
Mid North Coast Region, NSW State Emergency Service: Community Flood Reference Groups
The community reference groups were developed as a result of recommendations from previous post flood forums. The groups aim to develop and implement community owned engagement activities, influence EM planning and function operationally as a network for the dissemination of preparedness and response information.

Funded under the Natural Disaster Mitigation Programme the website provides road closure information (including RMS) from Northern Rivers Councils which provides an easy one-stop-shop where motorists can find what they want from their computer, phone or iPad.
