Engaging Emergency Management Volunteers in faith-based NGOs for disaster welfare - Who and How?
This project will employ an expert researcher in the area of emergency management volunteering to develop practical tools and checklists for faith based emergency management agencies across NSW and Australia as a template for addressing attraction, recruitment and retention of volunteers.

"Volunteering - How can we do it differently?"
The project will recruit and train community based agencies to increase the Red Cross surge capacity and build community resilience in regional western NSW. Using the findings from the "Out of uniform: Building Community Resilience through Non-Traditional Volunteering" project (Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC), the project will seek to diversify Red Cross' volunteer base and integrate the non-traditional volunteer into our preparedness, response and recovery programs.

The conference will bring together team leaders, trainers and facilitators from across the state, to develop strategies to improve volunteer experience, retention and further develop leadership skills. The conference will enable senior leadership to build on existing strategies to develop a statewide approach to facilitating volunteer engagement and strategy.

This project will run a series of Mental Health First Aid courses for volunteers of the Bushwalkers Wilderness Rescue Squad to better equip the squad to better recognise and respond to mental health emergencies.
