1894, October 31, Redfern rail emergency

A suburban train hit a country (Goulburn-bound) train at Redfern, killing 14 and leaving 27 injured. All the dead were on the suburban train, the two engine crew and 12 passengers. An incorrectly set signal caused the accident.
