Managing an Emergency Operation

Aim

To enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of participants in the management of emergency operations. Issues of emergency response / recovery management are addressed.

Outcomes

  • Participants should be able to:
  • Conduct a risk and damage assessment, relative to managing an emergency operation;
  • Apply management practices relating to information management, operational planning and resource co-ordination in the context of an emergency operation; and
  • Contribute to the management of emergency operations directly and in support of a combat agency.

Duration

21 hours, over 3 consecutive days.

Attendance

Course participants should be EOC staff at Local / District level, who contribute to operational decision making, including liaison officers.

Assessment

This course has an assessment component. Participation in the assessment process is a condition of attendance.
