Implementing Emergency Risk Management (NSW)

Aim

To provide participants with practical guidance on the application of the Emergency Risk Management process within a community context.

Outcomes

  • Determine the community context for the ERM process;
  • Identify, analyse and evaluate community risk;
  • Determine community risk treatment strategies;
  • Identify key issues relating  to the implementation of ERM; and
  • Identify strategies for facilitating community consultation.

Duration

12 hours, over 2 consecutive days.

Attendance

Participants are drawn from LEMC Chair / LEMO, LEOCON, LEMC members, local government officers and others who are to be actively involved in implementing the ERM process within their community.

Assessment

Participants are not assessed during the workshop. However, this workshop is part of a strand of training which includes an optional formal assessment process.

Prerequisite

Course links

This workshop is a prerequisite for Emergency Management Planning. It is aligned to units of competency from the National Public Safety Training Package.
