Introduction to Emergency Risk Management (NSW)
Aim
To provide participants with an overview of the Emergency Risk process as undertaken within a community context.
Outcomes
- Outline the stages of the Emergency Risk Management process;
- Discuss benefits arising from using this process; and
- Discuss the NSW implementation policy / program.
Duration
To be completed by distance learning.
Attendance
Any person, paid or volunteer, engaged in emergency management activities within the public and private sectors, who requires a basic knowledge of the Emergency Risk Management process. It is not suitable for those persons actively involved in implementing the process.
Assessment
Participants are not assessed during the workshop. However the workshop provides underpinning knowledge in a strand of training which includes an optional formal assessment process.

There is no direct link to other SEMC training. However, this workshop is a prerequisite to Emergency Risk Management courses offered by the Emergency Management Australia Institute.
