Plans

Agreements and arrangements between the different agencies involved in Emergency Management are documented in plans. These plans are then endorsed by the appropriate emergency management committee.

NSW State Disaster Plan (Displan)

The State Disaster Plan (Displan) is the document outlining the overall agreed roles and responsibilities of agencies.

Sub plans

Sub plans are produced by the authority with the primary responsibility for responding to the particular threat, for example, the State Flood Plan is produced by State Emergency Service and the State Bush Fire plan is produced by the Rural Fire Service.

Supporting plans

Supporting plans are produced by the relevant Functional Area Sub Committee. The SEMC is responsible for reviewing State and District Emergency Management Plans.

District plans

District plans describe the arrangements at the District level to effectively and efficiently prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. They also provide policy direction for the preparation of Local Displans, Local and District Supporting Plans and Local and District Sub Plans.
